Schubert and Logan Piano Trios

Please come to the world premiere of "Trio Miami" by Miami composer Andrew Logan. 
The piano trio is informed by the sights and sounds of south Florida and the great diversity at our door. 
Along with the Logan, will be Franz Schubert's Piano Trio No. 2 in E-flat major and Astor Piazzolla's Four Seasons.

1100 Block Outdoor Stage on Lincoln Road, Miami Beach
 
This FREE 50-minute Mozart on the Move program features our string quartet. We will play everything from Mozart and the Beatles to tangos, opera arias and Lady Gaga. Bring a folding chair or blanket and join us on the plaza.

Anna Hersey, our favorite Miami soprano and recent Fulbright scholar, will returnto sing with us 
after last year's extremely successful "Scandinavia Explored." The string quartet will accompany her
in Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky songs and perform the Prokofiev String 
Quartet #2 in F Major,Op. 92 and Shostakovich String Quartet #3 in F major, Op. 73.

"Picante" - Torrente, Villa-Lobos, Romero and Piazzolla

Music from or inspired by Cuba, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela. Manisero Fantasy, based on the Cuban folk song 
"The Peanut Vendor," was written for us by Al Torrente in 2012. This will be the southeastern US premiere. 
We will also play Heitor Villa-Lobos String Quartet #3. Villa-Lobos has been described as the 
single most significant creative figure in 20th-century Brazilian art music. Next is Argentine icon Astor Piazzolla's

Fantasma

Close your eyes. You hear a live string quartet playing haunting music. From the shadows, a ghostlike (yet adorable) creature wanders in, embarking on a scary journey led by a canine companion. She interacts with the musicians, the audience and you. This endearing phantom creature is on a quest to challenge her fears and test her might against huge beings... A giant Cat - A Bat - A Robot - A Swamp Thing... other Ghosts and more. Each step reveals a discovery that brings her closer to understanding her fears, her hopes and... Herself.
